EastWest earns Three Golden Arrows for stronger corporate governance
MANILA, Philippines – EastWest Banking Corporation (EastWest) has earned Three Golden Arrows at the 2026 Golden Arrow Awards organised by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), moving up from its Two-Arrow recognition last year.
The higher rating marks a further improvement in the Bank’s corporate governance performance and places EastWest at a stronger level of recognition under the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS), a regional benchmark used to assess governance practices among publicly listed companies.
The Golden Arrow Awards recognize companies for their performance in key areas of corporate governance, including transparency and accountability. The assessment also considers how companies address sustainability and maintain effective oversight of their operations.
For EastWest, the progression from Two to Three Golden Arrows is particularly significant in a banking environment where sound governance is essential to managing risk, protecting customers and maintaining the confidence of depositors, investors and other stakeholders.
Trust is especially important in banking, and it is something we must earn through responsible decisions and consistent accountability,” said Jerry Ngo, CEO of EastWest. “Receiving three Golden Arrows is a meaningful recognition for our team and encourages us to keep strengthening the practices that protect our customers and support the bank’s long-term growth.”
This year’s award also marks EastWest’s fourth consecutive recognition by the ICD, following its progression from One Golden Arrow to Two Golden Arrows in 2025.
As the Bank expands its products, services and digital capabilities, effective governance remains an important part of how it manages its business. Responsible risk management and strong board oversight help ensure that growth is supported by the appropriate safeguards and controls.
EastWest is among the four publicly listed companies of the Filinvest Group recognized at this year’s Golden Arrow Awards, alongside Filinvest Development Corporation, Filinvest Land, Inc. and Filinvest REIT Corp. This latest recognition adds to EastWest’s record of improving corporate governance standards as it continues to build a stronger, more competitive banking franchise.
