Our Programs
GuroWAIS: Empowering Educators
Teachers play a vital role in shaping the future—yet many face ongoing financial challenges. With only 35% of Filipinos considered financially literate, educators are often vulnerable to debt cycles, limited savings, and financial insecurity.
Recognizing this, EastWest Rural Bank launched GuroWAIS in 2025—a financial empowerment program designed specifically for Filipino teachers.
Guided by the WAIS Framework—Wise, Agile, Innovative, and Sustainable—the program delivers practical financial education tailored to every stage of a teacher’s journey, from early career to retirement planning.
The initiative has already reached 150 public school teachers, supported by trained employee volunteers known as Magenta Mentors, with plans to expand to more schools nationwide. EastWest aims to empower its network of over 221,000 teacher clients—helping them build financial confidence that benefits not only themselves, but also their families, students, and communities.
