  1. What is Home Equity Loan?
  2. Home Equity Loan (“Loan”) is a type of mortgage loan facility wherein Borrowers can use their existing real property with clean title (i.e., not mortgaged or otherwise encumbered and is in the name of the borrower) as collateral to secure the payment of the Loan.  Loan proceeds may be used for various purposes, e.g. buy a new car, expansion of business, or as ready working capital for business. 

  3. What collateral is accepted for a Home Equity Loan application?
    • House and Lot
    • Condominium
    • Lot only

  4. What is the maximum loan-to-value (LTV) for Home Equity?
  5. Borrowers can enjoy an LTV of up to 80% of the appraised value of the collateral.

  6. What is the maximum term?
  7. Borrowers can choose to pay the loan for a maximum term of 15 years or 180 months.

  8. How long is an application processed? 
  9. A loan application is processed within 5 working days from the time of receipt of all the required documents.

  10. Do I have to pay any fees?
  11. The following fees should be settled prior to loan release/booking:
    1. Appraisal Fee  (to be paid first by the borrower upon application and will be subject to a 100% rebate once the loan proceeds are released)
      • P3,000 for Greater Metro Manila Area
      • P5,000 for provincial area
    2. Bank Charges (to be charged upon loan booking to cover processing fees, insurance premium, notarial fees, mortgage and registration fees, and documentary stamp tax)

  13. Once the application is fully accomplished and signed, you may submit or send the same together with the required documents at any of the following:

  14. Who do I contact to follow up the status of my loan application?
  15. You may contact the EastWest branch where you filed or submitted your loan application or call EastWest Bank 24-Hour Customer Service Hotline at 888-1700.

  16. How do I get the loan proceeds?
  17. Loan Proceeds are released through Manager's Check.  The Borrower should personally pick-up the check and sign the pertinent loan release documents.

  18. How do I pay my amortization?
  19. You may pay through any of the following options:
    • Issuance of Post-Dated Checks (PDCs) in favor of EastWest Bank
    • Opening or enrolment of an EastWest Bank Account for an Auto-Debit Arrangement.
